The Tharawal are the people who have traditionally lived in the area that is now known as Yarrawarrah. Yarrawarrah is an Aboriginal name, and it means “mountain ash.” Yarrawarrah is the name of both a neighbourhood and a ridge that can be found in between Heathcote and Waterfall.
