Wentworthville Taxi Maxi. The Australian state of New South Wales includes the suburb of Wentworthville. Greater Western Sydney is where it is. The Greater Western Sydney region includes Wentworthville, which is located 27 kilometres west of Sydney’s CBD. Both the City of Parramatta and the Cumberland Council, which are in charge of local governance, include Wentworthville. Wentworthville is known by the slang term “Wenty.”
In Wentworthville, there are two stores. On the Cumberland Council side of the Wentworthville train station sits the larger, older precinct (the other side of the railway is part of City of Parramatta Council local government area and is mainly zoned residential). A Supa IGA, which formerly was a Franklins, presided over the Wentworthville Mall Shopping Center. It was abandoned in late 2017.
The more contemporary commercial centre is located along the Great Western Highway. The primary store there is Woolworths. Originally situated in the main shopping district, Woolworths relocated to their current location in the late 1980s. There is an Aldi in South Wentworthville, which is on the other side of the Highway.
For a long time, people travelled to the Wentworthville region to shop at factory outlets that offered direct-to-consumer sales of items. Clothes were directly sold to the public from the Bonds factory on Dunmore Street. Clothes manufacturing stopped.
Sydney Trains’ North Shore, Northern & Western Line connects Wentworthville to Richmond and Penrith in the west. The Wentworthville train station is where this line terminates. After arriving in the city, the majority of trains travel north to North Sydney, Chatswood, Hornsby, and Berowra. The station serves as a stop for the Cumberland Line, which runs between Blacktown and Campbelltown. In most cases, the journey to Sydney’s CBD takes 35 minutes.
On December 27, 1989, a derailment at the Wentworthville station resulted in the first significant Tangara accident.
