The Domain is a 34-hectare (84-acre) open space in New South Wales, Australia, that is part of the City of Sydney local government region. It is located on the eastern outskirts of Sydney’s central business district. The Royal Botanic Gardens Trust, a subsidiary of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, a government entity in New South Wales, manages The Domain, a green space that surrounds the Royal Botanic Gardens and separates the central business district from Woolloomooloo. Residents of Sydney routinely exercise and relax at The Domain, a popular venue for outdoor concerts, open-air events, large political meetings, and rallies. Also featured are the Royal Botanic Gardens. On April 2, 1999, the Domain was added to New South Wales State Heritage Register.
