In the Australian state of New South Wales, Seven Hills is a suburb of Sydney. Seven Hills, a part of the Hills District and Greater Western Sydney region, is located 27 kilometres northwest of Sydney’s central business district.
The Seven Hills Plaza is a major shopping district. It is close to Prospect Highway and the train station to the south-west. When it debuted in 1960, its original name was Seven Hills Regional Shopping Center.
The area north of the railroad, bounded by the Prospect Highway, Abbot Road to the north, Old Windsor Road to the west, and Blacktown Creek to the south, is densely populated with industrial and commercial complexes. On the southern side of Leabons Lane, near to the intersection with Seven Hills Road South, are the Hope 103.2 FM studios and the NSW Fire Brigade Station, which was constructed in 1995.
The majority of the area consists of houses. A cul-de-sac similar to Florida Place is typical of many Seven Hills residential streets, particularly those located south of the railroad. The structures illustrate a transition from single-story mixed construction residences built in the middle of the 20th century with an average floor area of approximately 100 m2 on 600–900 m2 lots to replacement homes built in the 2000s with a floor area that is two-to-three times larger.
Leabons Lane exemplifies residential and light business highways that serve as transportation corridors. Despite its tiny size, the roadway connects Blacktown to the residential areas of south Seven Hills. Take note of the abundance of signs, the number of traffic lights, and the utility poles draped with TV and power lines that are typical of the streetscapes in western Sydney.
Sydney Trains provides frequent service between Seven Hills and Central in 34 minutes. The suburb includes Grantham (the Grantham Estate) and Grantham Heights. Between Westmead and Bella Vista, at the point where the present road meets Norwest Boulevard, are the authentic seven hills. Seven Hills railway station is a key junction on Sydney Trains’ North Shore, Northern & Western Lines, with almost 2,000 commuter parking spaces. Seven Hills is located around 27 kilometres or 34 minutes by train from Central railway station, along the route to Penrith.
The M2 Hills Motorway, the M4 Western Motorway, and the Westlink M7 connect Seven Hills to other regions of Sydney. Seven Hills Road and the Prospect Highway are two other major thoroughfares in the region.
Hillsbus and Busways both provide regular bus service to Kings Langley from the Sydney Central Business District, Macquarie Park, Baulkham Hills, Bella Vista, Castle Hill, Blacktown, Toongabbie, Pendle Hill, and Parramatta. In Seven Hills, Hillsbus runs two depots: Hillsbus Seven Hills on Hartley Road and Hillsbus Foundry Road, which also serves as the company’s headquarters.
