Palm Beach Taxi Maxi, Palm Beach is a suburb located in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Palm Beach, which is part of the Northern Beaches Council, can be found around 41 kilometres north of Sydney’s CBD.
Palm Beach is located on a peninsula accessible by Barrenjoey Road, between Pittwater and Broken Bay. A total of 1,596 people called Palm Beach home as of the 2011 census.
Palm Beach, or “Palmy” as locals call it, is the setting for exterior shots in the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away, in which it plays the fictional city of Summer Bay.
Further, in 2018, the film “Palm Beach” will be released, telling the same story. Palm Beach is home to some of the country’s wealthiest residents, who can choose from among the many charming cottages and grand estates found there. Palm Beach, Florida, is a popular summer vacation spot for the rich and famous.
A few of the more notable sites in the region include the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, the Palm Beach-Boanbong Water Reservoir, the Palm Beach-McKay Water Reservoir, the Blueberry Ash, and the Iluka Resort Apartments.
Barrenjoey has a 2.3-kilometer-long beach that connects it to the mainland and an eastward-facing beach named after the island itself. The 100-meter-tall Barrenjoey Head, crowned by a lighthouse, forms the northern end of this beach, while the smaller, sandstone rocks of Little Head to the south create a gradual arc. The northernmost 600 metres of Barrenjoey Beach are backed by a densely forested foredune that is 200 metres wide and is located 1.4 kilometres south of North Palm Beach. Located in the southernmost 600 metres (2000 feet) of Palm Beach is the strip of beach that curves to the southeast at the southernmost section of Kiddies Corner. As one walks farther down the beach, Little Head provides more and more protection, and the waves gradually get smaller. Even though rips in this area are usually minor, they often extend all the way to the head, and there is frequently a weak permanent tear against the southern rocks.
Palm Beach features a wide range of establishments, including a preschool, hair salon, beauty parlour, milk bar, sizable RSL, salon, as well as numerous eateries, hotels, and inns.
From Palm Beach, you may take a seaplane to Rose Bay in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Cottage Point, and Berowra Waters. Palm Beach Seaplanes flies to all three of these airports. If you travel to the northernmost point of Governor Phillip Drive and Golf Drive, you’ll find the entrance to Palm Beach Water Airport. From a dock in the heart of Palm Beach, you can take the Palm Beach Ferry to the many beaches of Ettalong, Great Mackerel Beach, Currawong Beach, Coasters Retreat, and The Basin.
To get to Patonga from Palm Beach, you can use the ferry run by Palm Beach and Hawkesbury River Cruises. To get to Barrenjoey Road, you can use the bus or drive yourself. The Palm Beach area is serviced by State Transit, which is a bus operating firm. The L90 and the 199 both go to and from Wynyard, but only the L90 goes to Manly Wharf.
