Narraweena Taxi Maxi, Narraweena is a neighbourhood in northern Sydney. Narraweena is situated 18 kilometres north-east of Sydney’s central business district, within the Northern Beaches Council local government area, and is part of the Northern Beaches region.
There are two elementary schools in Narraweena: St. John the Apostle Narraweena Catholic School and Narraweena Public School.
The Aboriginal phrase Narraweena refers to a calm hilltop place. The area was subdivided after World War II, and the Narraweena Post Office opened on April 1, 1953.
Italians from Pazzano have organised an annual Santo Salvatore’s festival since the 1980s, during which a replica of the original statue is carried from the Narraweena Catholic Church across the suburb and back.
