Narrabie North Taxi Maxi, North Narrabeen is a suburb in northern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, approximately 25 kilometers north of Sydney’s central business district and within the jurisdiction of the Northern Beaches Council. Northern Beaches is where North Narrabeen is located.
North Narrabeen is situated on the northern Narrabeen lagoon beaches, bounded to the north by Warriewood, to the west by Elanora Heights, and to the east by Narrabeen Head and the ocean. On the other side of the southern lagoon shore is Narrabeen.
North Narrabeen Beach refers to the northernmost area of Narrabeen Beach. This beach and the North Narrabeen Surf Lifesaving Club are located south of the lagoon in the Narrabeen community.
John Lees (40 acres), Philip Schaffer (50 acres), and James Wheeler (50 acres) received the first land grants on the south bank of Mullet Creek (80 acres). In 1815, Alex Macdonald was awarded 80 acres (320,000 m2) on the beach, while JT Collins controlled 93.5 acres (378,000 m2) to the west of this region by 1857.
Prior to the construction of the first bridge in the 1880s, travellers traversing the lake in the nineteenth century had to ford it. Near the lagoon’s mouth on Ocean Street, a second bridge was completed in 1925. The introduction of tram services to Narrabeen in 1913 improved mobility, and the lakeside region became a popular destination for camping and vacations. On the northern shore of the lagoon, a massive camping area was established. In 1946, the North Narrabeen segment of the Wakehurst Parkway was built, connecting the entire Pittwater region to Frenchs Forest and Seaforth.
