Milperra is a suburb of Canterbury-Bankstown Council located 24 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district in the South Western Sydney region of New South Wales, Australia.
Near Milperra, Deepwater Park, Bankstown Golf Course, and Vale of Ah Reserve are a few of the parks and reserves that border the Georges River.
Mildura is where Western Sydney University is located (Bankstown campus).
Mount Saint Joseph, Milperra is an all-female, 7th through 12th grade high school located in the Milperra neighbourhood.
On Pozieres Avenue can be found Milperra Public School.
In Aboriginal culture, a group of individuals is known as a milperra. Initial proprietor of the Milperra land was George Johnson Jr. Soldiers who returned from World War I remained in the region and established businesses such as chicken farms and vegetable gardens. Thorns Bush, or Bankstown Soldier Settlement as it was officially known after 1917, was a western Sydney neighbourhood. Numerous streets in the region are named after officers and battles from the First World War.
Milperra College of Advanced Education, located in south-western Sydney, was formed in 1974 to fulfil the region’s expanding demand for higher education. It was renamed the Macarthur Institute of Higher Education in 1983, then the Western Sydney University Bankstown campus in 1989.
On Father’s Day in September 1984, members of the Comanchero and the Bandidos engaged in a brawl in the parking lot of the Milperra Viking Tavern, which is located in Revesby. The phrase “Milperra Massacre” is now used to describe this conflict. Six adult bikers and a 14-year-old girl were murdered.

Milperra contains business and industrial zones in addition to residential neighbourhoods. Milperra Shopping Village on Bullecourt Avenue and Ashford Village at the intersection of Bullecourt and Ashford Avenues are merely two of the region’s several small shopping malls. Near the public school, there are numerous businesses along Milperra Road, as well as a concentration of merchants at the intersection of Pozieres and Amiens Avenues.
On the western side of the Georges River Milperra Bridge is the key thoroughfare Milperra Road, which connects to Newbridge Road and Moorebank on the northern boundary. In addition to the M5 South Western Motorway, which follows the southern boundary of the area, Henry Lawson Drive is another key road in the region.
