New South Wales’ southernmost suburb, Kangaroo Point is a quiet community located in the state of Australia’s New South Wales. It can be found in the Sutherland Shire local government area, which is 22 kilometres to the south of the central business centre of Sydney.
Kangaroo Point is the name given to the peninsula that extends into the Georges River from its southern bank. It used to be a part of the suburb of Sylvania, which is why it now shares the same postcode as that neighbourhood even though it is completely surrounded by Sylvania. The neighbourhoods of Kareela and Oyster Bay can be found directly across from Oyster Bay’s canal. The communities of Blakehurst, Kyle Bay, and Connells Point can be found on the opposite side of the Georges River from Blakehurst.
