Heathcote is a southern Sydney suburb located in New South Wales, Australia. Heathcote is located 36 kilometres south of Sydney’s core business centre in the Sutherland Shire. Heathcote is surrounded by Waterfall to the south and Engadine to the north.It is bordered by The Royal National Park to the east and Heathcote National Park to the west.

The railroad divides the two Heathcote neighbourhoods. There are two schools and a sports field in Heathcote East. Heathcote West has the highest population density. The camping grounds and training facility of the South Metropolitan Scouts Association are located on Boundary Road. Close to the train station, on the western side of Princes Highway, is a small cluster of shops. The Sutherland Shire Emergency Services Centre is located just east of the train station.
