Gladesville is a Sydney, New South Wales, Australia suburb that is part of both the Lower North Shore and the Northern Suburbs. Gladesville is located 10 kilometres northwest of Sydney’s CBD in the local government areas of the City of Ryde and the Municipality of Hunter’s Hill. Gladesville is located in the federal electoral districts of North Sydney and Bennelong.

The Gladesville neighbourhood is named after the neighbouring Gladesville Bridge, which connects Sydney’s North Shore to the Inner West.
Gladesville has two business districts: Gladesville Shopping Village, a small shopping complex off Cowell Street, and the commercial district focused on Victoria Road, the suburb’s main thoroughfare. Some residents remain vehemently opposed to Hunters Hill Council’s intentions to rehabilitate the site (which include removing an important local landmark building). Despite opposition from many locals who want to preserve the current mix of boutique shops and low-density housing, the local municipal council has opted to develop the region with high-density housing and strip mall commercial malls.

Christ Church Gladesville Preschool, Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School, Gladesville Public School, and Boronia Park Public School are located in the neighbourhood. Gladesville is close to a number of prestigious private schools. The suburb of Huntleys Point, which is close to Gladesville, is home to Riverside Girls High School. St. Joseph’s College for Boys and Villa Maria Primary School are in Hunters Hill, Holy Cross College for Boys is in Ryde, and Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich is near the Woolwich peninsula. These easily accessible schools serve as the principal educational institutions for the young Gladesville citizens.
