Elanora Heigth Taxi Maxi, In the northern Sydney region of the Australian state of New South Wales is located the suburb of Elanora Heights.
The community of Elanora Heights is located 27 kilometres north-east of Sydney’s central business area. It is the responsibility of the Northern Beaches Council, the local governing body for that region. Elanora Heights is situated in Australia’s Northern Beaches region. Elanora Heights is situated on the slope that overlooks the Tasman Sea and Narrabeen Lagoon, which is located above Narrabeen. Both Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Garigal National Park are next to the northern forests, with Garigal National Park being on the south-western edge. Bandicoots, blue-tongued lizards, possums, and numerous species of birds are only a few of the local wildlife that may be found in the area. In recent years, a very rare quoll was discovered in the neighbourhood, and rock wallabies are a common sight on the Elanora Country Club golf course. The Pittwater neighbourhood of Elanora Heights, which is a popular tourist destination, is recognised for having some of the largest houses in the region.
Elanora Heights is derived from an Aboriginal word that can be interpreted as “home by the sea” or “house by the water,” while the suffix “Heights” is derived from the English phrase “up high.” The neighbourhood of Elanora Heights derives its name from its hilltop location overlooking a nearby lagoon.
In 1929, the neighbourhood was established as Elanora Heights, a residential estate. The initial attempts at colonisation consisted of a coal mining camp. Elanora Country Club was founded in 1922 after members of the Royal Sydney Golf Club purchased a wide stretch of land in the early 1920s and utilised it as the club’s foundation. In the later half of the 20th century, the name was abbreviated to Elanora, but the longer form has not completely supplanted it.
