Croydon is a Sydney suburb in the Australian state of New South Wales’ Inner West. It is located 9 kilometers west of Sydney’s CBD. Croydon is administered by two local government entities: Burwood Council and the Inner West Council.

The neighborhood is nestled between the business districts of Burwood and Ashfield. It is bounded on the north by Parramatta Road, on the east by Iron Cove Creek, on the south by Arthur Street, and on the west by a number of streets. Kings and Canada Bays are to the north of the Parramatta River, Concord Hospital is to the northwest, and the Olympic Games complex at Homebush Bay is to the northwest. To the south is the Canterbury Racecourse. Croydon is a portmanteau of Croydon and a large borough and district in the south of London, England.
