They also came in second in the University Shield in 1978 and the Amco Shield in 1976. In 1982 and 1987, Ashcroft High also won the Buckley Shield. Ashcroft Primary School also won the Westmont Shield in an unspecified year. Ashcroft is home to one of the four major schoolboys rugby league championships, the Amco Shield, University Shield, Buckley Shield, and Westmont Shield, as well as numerous Parramatta and state knockouts. In 1977, Ashcroft High served as a warm-up for the rematch of the Parramatta vs. St. George Grand Final. They were narrowly defeated by the NSW CHS team.
